no, you can get it from bacteria introduced in many ways…..those new to sex, usually get it because men who aren’t too clean, deposit bacteria in the vagina which is near the urinary tract. It’s called cystitis.

Sexy dude

uti is a broader term, some stds can cause uti, etc.

so we have to find out what causes the uti, then we can say if it is a std or bacterial or virus infection.

Whilst bacteria causing urinary tract infection can be introduced by intercourse, it is not a sexually transmitted disease. See the web site for causes.

No UTI is not an STD.When having sex bacteria from your bottom can enter your urethra (wee tube). As you can imagine the penis etc spreads the bacteria around the entry area.
Because the urethra is only around 3cm in a female. The bacteria don’t have far to travel in order to cause a bladder infection. Men have a longer tube so aren’t so prone to UTI’s.
It is said that if you wee after sex then you are flushing the bacteria away.
Have a wash after sex to prevent such problems.

No, it’s not a STD although you can probably get one from having sex. Bad hygiene, poor diet, sitting in dirty water by a pool or on a boat, wearing the same underwear 12 days in a row….you could get a UTI from any of these things.

gracilism

Depends on the pathogen causing the UTI, but usually not.

Sintori

Women can get it from wiping the wrong way after a bowel movement. Little girls get it all the time. But it’s not considered an STD. It’s just bacteria in the wrong place.
